About Us

A DIFFERENT WAY TO CONNECT, PREPARE, AND PRACTICE.

The Elite Squad Association is a Toronto-based nonprofit creating experiential learning opportunities that strengthen connection, practical capability, and everyday readiness.

We believe meaningful learning goes beyond information. It happens through experience, interaction, reflection, and practice.

Our programs create opportunities for people to strengthen communication, awareness, judgment, adaptability, confidence, and the ability to navigate real-life situations more effectively.

Through trauma-informed education, scenario-based learning, community experiences, and applied practice, participants are encouraged to move from simply knowing to actually doing.

WE DON’T JUST TEACH FOR THE MOMENT.
WE BUILD CAPABILITY FOR REAL LIFE.

Connect. Prepare. Practice.

A pathway from learning to experience, and from experience to lasting capability.

What Makes Us Different

KNOWLEDGE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

WE CREATE EXPERIENCES THAT BUILD REAL-WORLD CAPABILITY.

Our approach is guided by three core principles:

1. CONNECTION CREATES THE FOUNDATION

Meaningful learning begins with connection. Through shared experiences, communication, collaboration, and community, we create environments where people can engage, participate, and learn from one another.

2. PREPARATION BUILDS CONFIDENCE

Being prepared is not about knowing every answer. It is about developing the awareness, judgment, adaptability, and understanding needed to navigate everyday challenges and unexpected situations with greater confidence.

3. PRACTICE TURNS KNOWLEDGE INTO CAPABILITY

Knowing what to do is different from being able to do it. Through experiential learning, realistic scenarios, interaction, reflection, and feedback, participants have opportunities to apply what they learn and strengthen their capabilities over time.

CONNECT. PREPARE. PRACTICE.

This progression is at the heart of TESA.

We move beyond passive learning by creating opportunities to experience, apply, reflect, and grow, so learning can carry beyond the classroom and into real life.

Our Mission

We create opportunities for people to connect, prepare, and practise, so learning becomes capability for real life.

The Elite Squad Association exists to strengthen connection, practical capability, and everyday readiness through experiential learning, trauma-informed education, and meaningful community engagement.

Our programs help participants develop the awareness, communication, judgment, adaptability, and confidence needed to navigate everyday challenges and unexpected situations more effectively.

Through our core approach—Connect. Prepare. Practice.—we create opportunities to:

  • build meaningful connection and stronger communication

  • strengthen awareness, judgment, and decision-making

  • practise skills through real-world scenarios and shared experiences

  • apply learning with greater confidence and adaptability

  • grow through reflection, feedback, and continued practice

Our mission is not simply to provide information.

It is to create experiences that help people become more connected, capable, and prepared for real life.

The Return to Wholeness
REST
Pathway (Levels 1–4)

At the heart of our work is Returning to Wholeness, a structured, multi-level learning pathway built around the REST™ framework:

R — Regulate
Restore internal safety and nervous-system capacity

E — Embody
Develop felt sense, boundaries, and embodied trust

S — See
Cultivate a clear perception of patterns, relationships, and self

T — Take Responsibility
Apply insight through grounded leadership, service, and action

Learning in the REST™ Pathway happens through immersive retreats and guided integration, not rushed weekly sessions. Participants step away from daily roles and identities to rest deeply, stabilize internally, and engage in honest self-observation.

This sequencing allows learning to land in the body and in daily life, not just in the mind.

From Participant to Senior Member

Return to Wholeness is not a one-time event.

Over time, many participants naturally grow into senior members of the community, not as volunteers in name, but as steady, regulated presences who contribute through experience, mentorship, and relational responsibility.

This mirrors apprenticeship-style learning models rather than hierarchical teaching:

  • Growth is embodied, not credential-driven

  • Contribution emerges through readiness, not obligation

  • Responsibility is shared, not assigned

In this way, the work extends beyond individual change into collective safety and continuity.

Level 0 Community Classes
Where the Journey Begins

For those new to this work, we offer Level 0 Community Classes, accessible, beginner-friendly sessions focused on restoring internal stability and awareness.

These classes provide:

  • Simple nervous-system regulation tools

  • Language for internal experience

  • A safe, structured entry point into deeper work

Level 0 is not therapy, coaching, or emotional processing.
It is a safety orientation, designed to help people feel grounded enough to decide whether deeper engagement is right for them.

Our Vision

A MORE CONNECTED, CAPABLE, AND PREPARED WORLD.

We envision communities where people have the connection, confidence, practical capabilities, and opportunities to navigate an ever-changing world together.

A future where:

  • Meaningful connection strengthens individuals and communities

  • Awareness and sound judgment support better decisions

  • Learning extends beyond knowledge into real-world application

  • People feel more capable of navigating everyday challenges and unexpected situations

  • Communities grow stronger through participation, shared experience, and mutual support

We believe progress should bring us closer, make us more capable, and strengthen the communities we share.

Connect. Prepare. Practice.
